Operations Manager ADS

Primary Job Functions: Manage and oversee the activities of operations staff to ensure consistency and balance of resources for performance. Collaborate with customer service, shipping, and brokerage teams to plan for various delivery methods based on volume and capacity levels. Monitor, evaluate and implement driver capacity at all locations ensuring that the driver count supports the workload. Review all lanes regularly to optimize inbound and outbound deliveries. Collaborate cross-functionally with Ashley Distribution (ADS) and Ashley Furniture (AFI) management to ensure process improvement measures are being reviewed, developed and implemented. Evaluate, provide recommendation and implement future delivery requirements through the application of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and statistical methods. Review, evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in transportation management systems through collaboration with IT and ADS personnel. Manage and oversee to ensure proper documentation as it relates to the driver, vendor/customer performance. Assist Operations management with the creation of the annual budget based on the strategic growth initiatives; monitor departmental performance and take action when necessary to ensure budgetary goals are met. Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc. Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area's goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to. Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities. Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate. Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities. Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials. Demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions. Job Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation or related field, or equivalent work experience, Required Experience: 5 years' experience in a combination of transportation, logistics or Fleet experience, Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of DOT Regulations Knowledge of Fleet Operations Knowledge of Call Center Operations Routing & Dispatch Software Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Effective interpersonal communication skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Analytical and problem-solving skills Maintain confidentiality Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and Transportation Management Systems Ability to maintain consistent strong communication with multiple parties across long-distances Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment Display empathy, understanding, and patience with employees and external customers Work professionally with customers and co-workers to efficiently serve our customers, treating both with enthusiasm and respect We are an equal opportunity employer and provide a drug-free working environment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
