The Senior Retail Financial Analyst will provide all financial analysis and operational metrics to Vice Presidents, Store Managers and Operations leaders of Ashley HomeStores. This position is expected to use their experience and technical skills to provide recommendations and improvements to financial reporting. Additionally, the Senior Retail Financial Analyst will collect, reduce inventories and increase sales. This position will combine the ability to analyze financial information with interpersonal skills to form management teams directed at process improvement and cost reduction. This position will work with both the Corporate Finance team and HomeStore Operations Management to develop analysis tools to assist process improvements, development of key process measures, inventory management and the development of business plans and forecasts.
The Senior Retail Financial Analyst will form and focus management teams directed toward increased traffic, conversion and profit margins. This position will provide management critical information used in decision making and must verify and validate a very large amount of information relative to product costs, margins, inventory levels and company performance indicators. Additionally, this position will provide a critical link between Ashley Corporate and on-site Retail Operations Management.
Essential Functions:
This section describes the primary /essential responsibilities that this job performs.
Create pro forma profit and loss statements. These "as if" statements must combine the ability to dynamically update assumptions while maintaining financial reporting consistency and compliance with overall financial policies/procedures.
Support merger and acquisition of retail locations, including participation in and management of the due diligence action item list and the coordination of the inventory of fixed assets and the products and accessory inventory.
Manage cross charges by preparing the analysis of all current cross charged costs and making recommendations to management and market leaders for revisions to ensure retail operations are fairly stated.
Support licensee financial analysis and z-score by working directly with HomeStore licensee operations management and HomeStore Vice President of Corporate Support to prepare and make recommendations to Ashley leaders related to the improvements possible based on the combination of current licensee financial results along with best practices from years of reviewing corporate HomeStore operational results.
Develop and research new financial metrics by regularly finding and attending external seminars/training/coursework focused on retail metrics and/or accounting practices.
Provide direct support to corporate-owned HomeStore markets by providing Key Process Measures (KPMs) and business analytics used by operations management to take actions directed at business improvements. Prepare and facilitate weekly and monthly management meetings designed to review KPMs and establish follow-up action plans to improve financial performance. Work to increase the speed and efficiency of reporting and improved levels of drill down and analysis of information.
Actively participate in cross-functional process improvement teams working to improve key performance measures including traffic, sales, conversion, returns and replacement part costs, days to deliver and expense reductions, margin improvements, inventory improvements including stocking levels, and reduction of slow-moving and discontinued goods.
Ensure accountability for key business processes including returns, margins and sales-person performance by monitoring reporting information and following up with Regional Directors and market VP's to ensure actions are being taken to facilitate improvements.
Assist with compliance and report requirements including month-end closing (i.e. after hours Saturday close of business), audit requests, budget and forecast support, bonus calculations, validation of information such as sales, returns, RADAR information and assist with physical inventories and special requests for information as needed.

Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance, Required
Experience:
4 years of accounting experience, Required

Retail costing and inventory control systems
Operational accounting performance measures
Retail accounting systems
Budget planning and financial forecasting
Proven non-technical competencies in staff management including teambuilding, vision casting and communication and setting priorities.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
