Design, Build, Deliver:

Finally, all orders are filled from strategically located regional warehouses and are serviced by our own fleet of trucks, the largest in the industry.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Purchase a specific set of assigned raw materials, components, and/or MRO supplies. Work with internal customers to determine requirements, procure, follow-up with suppliers on the status of orders, expedites orders when necessary, and ensure proper quantities of materials are avaialbe for production on a timely basis. Ensure inventory transaction data entry or scanning is completed accurately and on time.
Facilitate communication between manufacturing operations, design, engineering, and purchasing to collect data to support the selection of primary and secondary suppliers of supplying raw materials, components, and/or MRO supplies that offer the best-delivered value to the Ashley Company. Perform price negotiations with suppliers as needed. Serve as the company representative to prospective suppliers, communicate company needs, and gather information from suppliers regarding their products and services. Provide recommendations to Global Commodity Manager on best course of action based on price negotiations and supplier selection research.
Work with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing in the development of raw materials, components, and/or MRO supplies for production. Attend all necessary meetings on these topics and prepare reports summarizing information for Purchasing Managment.
Train suppliers on the use of ashleysupplier.com to ensure that proper data is captured. Ensure suppliers understand system purchase order (PO) data, PO collaboration, planned requirements, PO generation, ASNs (Advanced Shipping Notice), etc.
Summarize results of supplier selection, inform all using parties of selected supplier(s), and raw materials, components, and/or MRO supplies. Place RFQ with supplier; evaluate, summarize quotations, negotiate pricing, and recommend which supplier should be awarded the business.
Report on supplier capacities, project completion and/or problem resolution by communicating the issues with all affected departments and personal.
Job Requirements
Experience:
5 years purchasing level experience in a manufacturing environment
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Systems; MAPICS and Resonance
Materials management software programs
Broad technical view and understanding of purchasing process
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools
Documents management system
Understand and utilize Commodity Cost Models
Proficient computer skills, Micor Soft Office Suite, Outlook, Internet, Intranet
The ability to effectively use the Internet for sourcing, base raw material tracking, and cost trend tracking or analysis

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
