The Director of Distribution Systems provides leadership and vision in all phases of application systems support for the delivery of effective business system solutions to meet internal and external customer needs. This position requires exceptional organizational, financial, team building, relationship and project management skills. This position will provide leadership and supervision of Logistics teams who deliver application support to internal and external users as they use IT supported business systems. This includes troubleshooting applications and software, documenting operational support functions, and supporting maintenance and upgrade efforts.
The Director of Distribution Systems is responsible for the cross-functional integration of all the functional areas under their leadership.
This position will recommend and promote capital and be operating expenditures within an area of responsibility.
Essential Functions:
Serve as the primary interface between inter-department executive management and the Distributions/Logistics IT team, third party vendors, and business leaders
Plan, direct and assure the timely completion of the work at the required level of quality to meet the long and short-term needs of the organization.
Create and communicate a clear definition and understanding of the work requirements and goals as well as any constraints in terms of time, policy, cost or quality.
Maintain and operate applications and/or infrastructure devices.
Support and provide leadership for all departmental projects
Manage and oversee the testing of computer production operational routines, procedures, methods, processes and document them.
Communicate and train others in operational routine procedures, methods, and processes.
Identify incorrect operations and system failures. Work with systems users and IT organization to correct the failures and restore the system to proper working order in an efficient and timely manner that minimizes the adverse effects of the failure as the business demands.
Proactively improve business processes and growth through technology enablement.
Accountable for the delivery of IT projects and programs in the portfolio worldwide.
Responsible for IT business relationship management, IT investment portfolio (prioritization, project delivery, and third-party management processes). The initiatives led by this person span a complex set of functions, technologies, and geographies.
Provide recommendations to the Information Technology Executives and leadership in the development of IT strategy, tactics, plans and processes.
Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
Provide 24X7 applications support to the distribution centers and related business units, Partner with business units to leverage IT resources to better understand customer operations and processes, development opportunities, business requirements, and potential improvements while providing strategic recommendations.
Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science and/or Engineering Required or 5 years of relevant experience
10 years' experience in Information Systems in area of managed specialty (infrastructure, applications, operations, development), specifically in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Supervisory/Management experience
Substantive knowledge of Distribution center processes and how to enable/improve the operations through technology either application development or 3rd party application configuration/integration.
Specific process and functional/technical knowledge and capability areas include: Receiving, Putaway, Inventory Management Processes, Labor Management,
Technical experience with data middleware solutions and API management tools
Experience with Software Development Methodologies including Change Control, Production Support and Quality Assurance.
Mobile application capabilities
RF device management
Exposure to advanced capabilities around automation, automated storage and retrieval systems, real time location based services and automated guided vehicles.
Preferred Experience:
WMS Application Experience (configuration, enhancement, development) ? with a sophisticated full function WMS application examples include: HighJump Warehouse Advantage
Application Product/Service Management / Platform Management Understanding
Application Support Management
Agile Project Management
Experience managing vendor project engagements and ongoing partnerships.
Experience with cost control, budget development and monitoring or similar P&L responsibility

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
