The Import Account Specialist is responsible for providing excellent service to our international customers by using their expertise to build strong, healthy relationships with customers, educating them of all benefits of doing business with the organization and creating an open and accessible communication route for free flow of information.
The Import Account Specialist will coordinate the customer orders with Marketing Specialists, Customers, Credit Department, warehouses, and overseas manufacturers to ensure timely delivery according to customer request dates. This position will spend a majority of the workday handling customer requests, questions or concerns and troubleshooting to solve problems to ensure customer satisfaction while keeping the goals of the company in mind.
The Export Account Specialist must have the skills and ability to keep emotions under control in order to seamlessly move from one situation to the next. This position requires that the individual maintain prompt, efficient and accurate data entry to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Essential Functions:
Professionally communicate with customers at all times to check on order status, confirm pricing, change orders, cancel orders, change delivery dates, suggest alternatives to customers, coordinate shipment details, etc. Collaborate with a variety of people such as Marketing Specialists, Credit Analysts, Distribution Center personnel, overseas manufacturers and others ensure customer satisfaction while keeping company goals in mind.
Answer customer questions on products related to color, dimension, clearance, matching items, sets, care, and cleaning, etc. Consult product catalog, Ashley Direct comments and photos, HomeStore, and/or Engineering Department for information as needed.
Enter, post, process and manage customer orders for finished goods and replacement parts according to standard operating procedures. Cancel partial or complete orders as requested by customers or as needed due to discontinuation of items. Manage and maintain orders to ensure replacements, shortages, below minimums, discontinued items, must ship complete orders, crossed items/orders and others are all addressed and handled appropriately to ensure a clean order base.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with a defective product, incorrect product, customer perception, etc., to determine the most appropriate method of resolution. Handle customers and/or escalated situations utilizing exceptional customer service, problem-solving and negotiation skills to find the best possible resolution to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Establish and maintain effective communication, coordination and working relations with international vendors, and international office staff.
Accurately maintain internal records regarding customer and/or country requirements and shipment status; update the records accordingly as changes occur.
Select orders to organize full-truckload and partial deliveries. Schedule product pick-ups and deliveries to ensure a continuous flow of ordered and allocated product from our distribution center to the customers in the most timely and efficient manner. Contact customer to schedule deliveries and/or advise of product deliveries. Negotiate with customers, marketing specialists and/or other departments as needed to ensure all allocated product is delivered and/or picked up as scheduled.
Train customers and marketing specialists on the use of Ashleydirect.com.
Maintain and retain international correspondence in accordance with established U.S. Customs requirements.
Collect and update information in accordance with team key process measures.
Assist in maintaining standard operating procedures for the International Account Support Team; make recommendations for changes and implement upon manager's approval.
Determine areas in need of improvement, make recommendations and assist with creating, implementing and monitoring process improvement changes.
Job Requirements
Education:
Associate Degree in International Business or business related field, or equivalent work experience, Required
Experience:
1 year of Office Support or Customer Service related field, Required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
