This position will oversee our fleet operation of of 850 tractors and 3,000 trailers. We are looking into 250 new tractors in 2018 and a new TMS! They have traveled over 140M miles in 2017 and we are looking for more growth. We have earned 3rd place in the Division 5 of Truckload Carriers Association Fleet Safety Award and moved up to #48 in Transport Topics Top 100 largest Private Carriers in North America! The Senior Director of ADS Operations is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations including Dispatch, Planning, Routing and Carriers. This position is also responsible for the oversight of Key Process Measures (KPMs) for equipment (asset) utilization, asset maintenance, shop personnel, yard and shuttle personnel, fleet safety and compliance and rail departments. This position will provide strategic direction and support to fully service our customers, establish and maintain KPMs and develop a productive work environment with clear and precise guidelines and standard operating procedures. Additionally, the Senior Director of ADS Operations will provide wise and sound decisions for customer and employee enhancement, effectively establish objectives and performance standards regarding evaluations, strengths & weaknesses, attendance, conduct and technological skills and will drive change and encourage growth to achieve our goals.
The Senior Director of ADS Operations must be extremely visionary to know what people, what changes and what improvements are necessary to build a world-class team. This position must continually improve oneself by seeking out more knowledge, by continuously improving, by self-teaching and raising the bar to grow, and by passing on the learnings to build the department's intellect. This position is responsible for leading a team that will never stop questioning the why, that is not afraid to drive change and is always looking for the next big improvement that takes the organization in the right direction.
The Senior Director of ADS Operations will effectively lead and guide employees by utilizing all resources available to satisfy the customer. This individual will display leadership traits to promote a positive and professional environment. The Senior Director of ADS Operations will integrate goals and objectives to enhance and increase business and consistently seek new and innovative methods to improve processes within the department and company.
As needed, the Senior Director of ADS Operations will handle difficult customers and/or situations utilizing exceptional customer service, problem solving and negotiation skills to find the best possible resolution for the customer while keeping the needs of the business in mind. This position will need to use profound knowledge to determine when to enforce or override standard procedures.
The Senior Director of ADS Operations must have the skills and ability to keep emotions under control in order to seamlessly move from one situation to the next.
Essential Functions:
Partner with the executive and senior leadership throughout the organization to design and develop operational strategy that supports the organizational business needs and goals; drive the implementation of that strategy.
Identify and implement industry best practices to support organizational direction.
Provide strategic direction for and oversight of the day-to-day activities of equipment (asset) purchasing, asset maintenance, shop personnel, yard and shuttle personnel, fleet safety and compliance and rail departments, as well as dispatch, planning and routing; provide guidance and direction to ensure teams are meeting KPMs.
Oversee to ensure all employees in the department adhere to creating a safe and ergonomic workplace by following all corporate safety guidelines and protocol.
Monitor and oversee labor, materials and overhead expenses for all departments to identify trends and develop improvement plans to increase productivity, profitability, on time performance, and employee morale.
Oversee to ensure the maintenance of corporate disciplines, company policies and procedures to create a productive, organized, clean, and safe environment.
Collaborate with other departments both internally and externally to drive change and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.
Serve as a mentor to employees by creating a work environment characterized by a free exchange of ideas, teaching and learning from each other.
Implement suggestions that improve or change processes in support of the company's growth objectives.
Fully utilize the support of all departments to meet customer requirements.
Research, identify and present ideas/suggestions that support cost reductions while assuring quality & on-time products that meet our customers needs.
Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area's goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.
Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Business, Transportation or related field or equivalent work experience, Required.
Experience:
12+ years of Transportation/Logistics experience, Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Department of Transportation Regulations
Strong knowledge of Fleet Maintenance Industry Standards

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
