Arcadia, Wisconsin; Atlanta, Georgia; Brandon, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; Las Vegas Nevada; Colton or Sacramento, California; Tacoma, Washington What Will You Do? You will assist with retail inventory control and perform general accounting tasks related to creating timely and accurate financial statements. Combine the ability to analyze business information with interpersonal skills to form management teams directed at cycle count process improvements and cost reductions. Responsibilities also include maintenance and validation of cost information and preparation of internal and external audit reporting for retail operations in the furniture industry. This position is also involved in enterprise-wide system and process improvement teams to improve key process measures and overall operating efficiency of the inventory control process
Responsibilities:
Perform assignments related to the monthly financial close process - prepare journal entries, month-end financial reports and review and analysis of financial data Perform general ledger account reconciliation; work with individuals in Accounting, Accounts Payable and Cash Teams as well as management personnel at the retail enterprise locations to resolve any issues. Provide guidance and recommendations on ways to improve inventory accuracy and work to resolve open issues on perpetual to general ledger reconciliation. Prepare corporate level financial analysis reports; provide information to retail management and collaborate with them to identify and implement process improvements. Utilize multiple systems to source information and compile meaningful summarized statistical data in a compelling and actionable format. Communicate product, service and/or system issues to the appropriate individuals. Participate in on-site physical inventory cycle count verifications and external audit requirements; this includes Retail distribution centers and stores. Assist employees with day-to-day functions when necessary, to meet the needs of the business, following the standard operating procedures for all processes. Effectively and professionally communicate with all internal and external customers to ensure high levels of Inventory Accuracy. Participate in process improvement teams to work toward the improvement of inventory accuracy within the retail and distribution centers. Collaborate with Warehouse, Retail, IT and other areas to research, identify and implement new and improved inventory control methods and reporting. Collaborate with Sales, Merchandising and other areas of management to ensure there is a financial return on the investment in inventory. Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc. Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area's goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to. Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate. Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities. Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities. Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials. Demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions. What Do You Need? Bachelor's Degree in accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience, Required 5 years of hands-on Accounting and/or Inventory Control experience, Required Experience with general accounting principles and including journal entries, Knowledge of Inventory management systems and document management systems Willingness to Travel at least 1 week every month, Required
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Accounting, Corporate FinanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
